Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is a program of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) sponsored by SUU. Recipients of the WUE tuition rate pay 150% of resident tuition plus any required student fees.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Submit a completed undergraduate application for admission, including supporting documents, to the Office of Admissions postmarked before the first day of classes, for freshman and transfer students. Consideration after this deadline is on a space available basis.
  • Incoming Freshman: High School GPA between 3.20-3.69 OR an ACT score of 24-30 OR a SAT score between 1160-1360.
  • Transfer Students: GPA between 2.5 and 3.69 required for award.
  • Meet all SUU admission requirements.
  • Be a degree-seeking freshman or transfer student enrolled in at least 12 credits per semester.
  • Be a permanent resident of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming or the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands (CNMI).
  • The credits earned as a WUE recipient may not count towards gaining Utah residency.

WUE recipients continue to pay WUE tuition rates as long as they meet the criteria specified as part of their WUE student agreement.

  • Freshman (eight semester renewable rate): maintain a minimum of 12 credits per semester and a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Transfer (six semester renewable rate): maintain a minimum of 12 credits per semester and a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
