Verification

Some students are randomly selected for FAFSA Verification. This means that SUU and FAFSA must double-check your information before you can receive any aid.

If you are selected for verification, you will receive an email from SUU’s Financial Aid office. It is critical that you take care of this step as soon as possible to avoid any delays in you receiving your Financial Aid. Here is a general example of how to complete the verification process:

  • Go to suu.verifymyfafsa.com.
  • Fill out the information like you did on the FAFSA.
  • Sometimes they will ask for extra documents, such as tax transcripts, marriage licenses, etc. Find these documents and upload them.
  • If you are a dependent student and needed to provide your parents information, you will have to have your parents create an account and sign the form electronically.

Remember, verification must be completed before you can receive any aid. Make sure to do the FAFSA early so you can resolve any issues well before the next school year.
