Ordering Caps and Gowns for Graduation

Caps, gowns and tassels are required for all graduates to participate in both the university and individual college degree convocation ceremonies.

  • Associate degree regalia includes dark blue gown, dark blue cap and white tassel.
  • Bachelor's degree regalia includes black gown, black cap and tassel (color of tassel corresponding with academic college).
  • Master's degree regalia includes a black gown that differs from the bachelor's robe, black cap, black tassel and hood (color of hood corresponding with master's degree program).

Cap, gown, tassel and hood (if applicable) are provided by the University free of charge, are yours to keep and do not need to be returned. No advance sizing necessary.

Regalia will be distributed at an early Grad Fair on Thursday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday, March 22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and at a second Grad Fair on Thursday, April 25, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and again on Friday, April 26, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hunter Alumni Center  

Graduates unable to attend the Grad Fair can authorize an individual to pick up their regalia by completing the Regalia Authorization Form. To explore other pick up options, please email Trekker Burt.

Stole of Gratitude

Write a thank you message on a stole to an individual who has made a positive impact on your education, wear your stole during commencement, and then present it to the individual for whom you are grateful following one of the commencement ceremonies. Each stole is white with SUU's red academic mark.
